Planning is well underway! The Museum is excited to open its doors on the Victoria Day Weekend and welcome visitors with some enjoyable events. Saturday, May 21st Sunday, May 22nd Royal Jubilee Tea Monday, May 23rd Time Capsule
Although we aren't open to the public before Victoria Day Weekend, we are sneaking in a visit from a busload of students from the Caldwell Street School in Carleton Place on May 12th, 2022. They'll be the first ones to try out our brand new bus roundabout.
Royal Jubilee Tea
Dust off your best fascinator or top hat and join us for a celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a Royal Jubilee Tea on Sunday, May 22nd, 2022. Enjoy a delightful selection of finger sandwiches, fruit and sweet treats with a cup of hot tea or mug of local coffee.
Also, on Sunday, May 22nd at 2pm, there will be a special recognition of the donors to the recent kitchen and bathroom renovation project.
Pandemic Time Capsule
Anyone wanting to contribute small items to a Pandemic Time Capsule, feel free to bring them to the Museum on opening weekend. We plan to seal our capsule and deposit it in the School's stone wall on Monday, May 23rd, 2022 at 2 pm. Suggested items include letters to the next generation of your family, news articles, photos, journals of pandemic life and pandemic artifacts. Keep in mind, all the items collected must be small enough to fit inside our container in the wall cavity.
Time Capsule sealed in the wall cavity of the 1861 School House, complete with cobwebs. Another Time Capsule will be added on opening weekend of the 2022 season.
Live Theatre Event
Looking ahead to July 9, 2022, the Middleville and District Museum will be hosting a Live Theatrepresentation. In fact, a hundred year old mystery will unfold in front of guests. You won't want to miss it!Tickets will go on sale in June. Please check back in the coming months for more details.

The 2021 Season The Museum opened on Saturday, July 24, 2021 for this year's season due to Covid 19 restrictions. . We are open Saturdays, Sundays and Holiday Mondays every weekend until Monday, October 11, 2021. At times when the Museum is closed, you can still reach us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
While we are all uncertain as to what the future will bring, the past is always with us - lots of it is in our museum!

2019 - 2020 News Upgrades to our Beloved (but old) Building! The Middleville Museum is thrilled to announce that we are the recipient of a $24,900 Capital Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The Grant will be used to complete the installation of indoor plumbing and upgrade our electrical system. We will be hosting an OTF Recognition Event & Community Celebration as soon as possible after the completion of the project. Many thanks to donors Catherine Kelly and John Brearly who began this project with the installation of a well and septic system. Thanks to local businesses including Centennial Truss, Lanark Timbermart, Carleton Place Canadian Tire, and Perth Planing Mill for donations, building materials, and fixtures. Thank you to the many individual donors who have contributed to the project in the last year. We are so grateful!
