Volunteers gave 4000+ hours
of time and service
to the Museum
during the 2024 season.

The Museum is always excited to welcome new volunteers to the team! Many new people joined the team in 2024 and helped out with events and projects.

Volunteers help with a number of tasks at the museum and in fact, it is entirely operated by volunteers. So if you like to bake, research, write or create, consider connecting with the Middleville and District Museum volunteer team. Maybe you like to dig in the dirt and design beautiful outdoor spaces. Why not give us a call? There are always light maintenance tasks and jobs that take a crew to complete. We
rely on volunteers for the many projects that the museum takes on.
If you have a skill or expertise that you think might fit in with our activities or have some new ideas, please give us a call.

How you can help!

Calling all gardeners...with every level of experience

With the acquisition of additional land, the Museum has made a start on developing the landscape around the Museum in recent years. If you have an interest in gardening and like working with others who also do, then check out the opportunities for volunteering in our upcoming yard projects this year. We have acquired new picnic tables and rain barrels. Trees, shrubs and  perennial gardens have been planted on the grounds. More planting projects are planned for the upcoming season.  An outdoor message center and bike rack have been installed. There's lots of work to do. Make a plan to join in the activities.
You may also be interested in becoming a member of our volunteer Board of Directors. The Board meets monthly. Some board members take on additional duties such as artifact research, public relations, event planning or genealogy.

Other opportunities for Board members include:
  • Welcoming visitors when the Museum is open as part of a hosting team
  • Contributing snacks for events
  • Helping out before and during events
  • Working on special exhibits and projects
  • Completing grant proposals
