Volunteering at the Middleville & District Museum is a rewarding experience!
If you have some time to spare, please consider joining us. Contact us through Facebook, Instagram, e-mail middlevillemuseum@gmail.com or by phone at 613-259-5462
The Museum is always excited to welcome new volunteers to the team!
Volunteers help with a number of tasks at the museum and in fact, it is entirely operated by volunteers. So if you like to bake, research, write or create, consider connecting with the Middleville and District Museum team. Maybe you like to dig in the dirt and design beautiful outdoor spaces. Why not give us a call? There are always light maintenance tasks and jobs that take a crew to complete.
How you can help!
If any of these volunteer positions look like a good match for your skills and interests, give us a call or contact us through our social media platforms.
Student Volunteer Hour Opportunities! If you are a student or know one who needs some volunteer hours, consider the Middleville and District Museum as an option. Students can help with things like yard work or events or research. There are lots of suitable tasks available. Gain valuable experience as you fill your volunteer hour requirements. Its a great opportunity to work as part of a team. Give us a call, e-mail or contact us through our social media links.
Volunteers bring the fun to our events!
The 2023 Season is a busy one!
With the acquisition of additional land, the Museum has made a start on developing the landscape around the Museum. If you have an interest in gardening and like working with others who also do, then check out the opportunities for volunteering in our upcoming yard projects this year. We have acquired new picnic tables, a bike rack and some rain barrels. New trees and shrubs have been planted. A new outdoor message center will be installed. There's lots of work to do. Make a plan to join in the activities.
You may also be interested in becoming a member of our volunteer Board of Directors. The Board meets monthly. Each board member takes on additional duties such as artifact research, public relations, or genealogy. Some of the other opportunities for Board members include:
Welcoming visitors when the Museum is open as part of a hosting team
Contributing snacks for events
Light maintenance and repair jobs
Carpentry jobs in the building and on the grounds
We also rely on volunteers for the many projects that the museum takes on. If you have a skill or expertise that you think might fit in with our activities or have some new ideas, please give us a call.
